ANSWERS

*Can I only play with Isao Net (a Sega provider)?
Sega Tetris can be played with any provider. You can enjoy it even if you are not using Isao Net.
*What are the fees?
There is no charge for connecting to the Sega Tetris server. You can play for just the usual internet fees (telephone charges + provider fees).

*Can I use a broadband adapter?
Sega Tetris does not support broadband adapters. Please play using a regular modem.

*What does the traffic light in the chat room mean?
The traffic light in the chat room shows the state of the connection between you and the other player. When the light is red, the connection between you and that player is poor, and there is a high possibility that the game will not run smoothly.

*What do the traffic lights mean during the game?
The traffic lights during the game indicate the data reception status. If the data reception status becomes poor due to the line conditions, the light will turn yellow or red, and the game will be temporarily paused.

*Why does the game sometimes slow down when online?
Game progress depends on the connection status. If the connection status is poor, the game will be paused until data is received. Possible factors that can cause poor connection status include telephone line congestion (telephone time). In Sega Tetris, Dreamcast players communicate directly with each other during matches without going through a server.

*During an online match, I'm returned to the chat room! Why?
If one of the players disconnects from the internet during the game, you will be returned to the chat room. You will also be returned to the chat room if the connection is too poor .

*There's someone in the chat room who doesn't say a word!
Even if you disconnect from the internet during a game, the character will remain in the chat room for a while ( a phenomenon known as ghosting ). If you talk to someone and they don't react at all, they may be a ghost.

*What can I do to enjoy the game comfortably?
A good connection is essential for comfortable play. Avoiding times when the connection is congested is also an option. The environment of your internet provider and access point also affects the connection quality. Please note that you may not be able to enjoy a satisfying match, especially with free internet providers.

*I want to find friends! What should I do?
If you know your friend's online participant name, you can find out which island they are on by using "Search for participants." However, you cannot search for them unless they are connected to the internet.

*I want to send a message to someone in a house!
You cannot enter a house when it is full, but you can send a message to the person inside. When you select a house, the screen will switch to the message input screen. However, you can
only send messages when chat is active inside the house . You cannot send messages during a match.
*How do I choose an opponent in a 4-player battle?
In a 4-player battle, you can use the LR buttons to choose an opponent. Opponents are indicated by numbers from 1P to 4P. You can tell who is what P by looking at the color of the field. 1P is light blue , 2P is orange , 3P is purple , and 4P is green . The field color is fixed every time. Also, if you send an attack to a player who is already dead, itwill be transferred to another player at random . To ensure you kill your opponent, always choose your opponent carefully!

*How do I move the LIVE camera?
When you lose in a 4-player match or in spectator mode, you can switch the LIVE camera using the directional buttons or BXY buttons . Pressing the A button will return to the default camera. Take a good look at other people's play and steal their techniques!

*How can I play the game online nowadays?
NOTE: This tutorial is for use with an emulator.
First, you'll need to download Flycast and a patch that brings back the online servers. Then in flycast, go to settings, Network, then in Network type choose "disabled". In Network Options enable "DCnet" and enter a username.

*There's nobody playing when i'm online! Where can I find players?
Well you could just go online occasionally and check if anyone is online, or you can join the Sega Tetris Online Community Discord Server and find people to play with there!

*I heard the Naomi version has 4P multiplayer. How can I set that up?
On real hardware you can connect two Naomi cabinets to enable 4P multiplayer. However it's unknown if Flycast supports this or not.
